Et nytt under kom
til Skopelos!
2 gode venner av meg startet fra Falmouth,
UK, søndag 13. mai og var lykkelige da de trygt ankom Skopelos
23. mai med sin nydelige, gamle bil som fremdeles har orginal
skiltene på!
En MGTA fra 1939, som tok sølvmedalje, samme år, i et race i The
Blue Hills, i The Lands
End Trial.
Turen gikk vedlig fint og de ble hilset og fotografert hele veien.
En lastebilsjåfør hang ut av
vinduet og "skjøt" dem
med sin mobil telefon!
De passerte Newhaven i UK, og over til Dieppe i Frankrike, The Black
Forrest i Tyskland, de sveitsiske alper i sne, Lichtenstein, de
italiensk alper hvor ski heisene fremdeles gikk og endelig ned til
vakre Venecia.
De sa ut utseilingen på en flott, komfortable ferge, var noe av
det vakreste på turen.
Det kom en text fra Igoumenitsa,
innenfor Korfu,
"Jippy, vi er i Hellas!"
Så kjørte de via Ioannina, videre opp og ned til Meteora, og
endelig Volos, hvor tollkontoret måtte besøkes!
Vi ventet her og det var artig å se alle som glante på bilen da
den kjørte av fergen.
De kjørte opp og ned Paralian og så innviterte Giannis, på
OuzoBaren, på litt forfriskninger!

A new wonder came
to Skopelos!
Starting the drive from
Falmouth, UK, Sunday the 13th of May,
some good friends of mine were happy to reach Skopelos the 23rd of May with their wonderful, old car
who still has the original plates on!
An MGTA 1939, who got a silver medal, the same year, in Blue
Hills, The Lands End Trial.
The trip went very well and they were greeted all the way by
people and were photographed a lot.
One lorry driver shot them with
his phone out of the window
when
he saw them!
The trip started from Newhaven to Dieppe in France, The Black
Forrest in Germany, the Swiss alps in snow, Lichtenstein, the
Italian alps where the ski lifts were still running and then down
to lovely Venice.
They said the journey on the very nice ferry out of Venice was
some of the most beautiful part of the trip.
I got a text from Igoumenitsa,
inside of Corfu.
"Yippy, we are in Greece!"
Then they drove passed Ioannina and Meteora, and finally they were
in Volos where the custom office had to be visited!
We were waiting in the harbor, and it was so nice to see them
driving off the ferry!
They drove up and down the Paralia and we were invited for
refreshments at Giannis; The Brown Chairs!
